Thoughts
A few months ago my mother started on another rant about her latest craft obsession. She and I are quite the pair- we both go through phases of crafting craziness. This particular conversation was about Lion Brand Mandala Yarn. I fell into her spiral of colors and fun and bought tons of this yarn. Then I turned to Pinterest to find the perfect pattern for such wonderful yarn. However, I was coming up short. So I decided I would dig much further and share my findings. This is a Round-Up of 13 Crochet Patterns using Mandala Yarn. I also included patterns that use Caron Cakes Yarn, seeing as they are so similar. I find that most people choose one over the other, like myself and Mandala Yarn. Either way, I think the yarns are interchangeable.
*Feel free to pin the above image then please pin the pattern from the original source that I have provided to give them proper credit.*

1. Three Mandala Thrill
Designed by Susan E. Kennedy from PrettyPeaceful
I wanted to start with this pattern because it is my favorite. Also, the designer makes her patterns for free Ravelry Downloads but also sells the PDF on Etsy as a fundraiser for her favorite nonprofit organization for mothers and babies in Kentucky. It might just be me, but this makes me love her patterns even more.

8. Moss Stitch Shawl
Designed by Sarah Zimmerman of Repeat Crafter Me.
I spotted the most beautiful ball of yarn at my local Michaels Craft Store a few weeks ago. I discovered that Caron Big Cakes has added a few new colors to their line-up and this one, Summer Berry Tart, really caught my eye! And with just one ball I created a triangle shawl! I used the Moss Stitch (SC + Chain 1) which is such a simple beautiful stitch. Unlike a traditional SC where you can see a defined front and back of the stitch, the moss stitch allows for perfect little “v’s” on both sides which makes your project completely reversible. Plus the self-striping nature of Caron Big Cakes lends itself so well to this stitch and project!

I do believe that the pattern above is just for the flower. You would have to convert it into a pillow.
