When going to make a crochet pattern, I always find it hard to buy the right amount of yarn and sometimes, to find the yarn that is recommended. I recently decided to become an affiliate for Lion Brand Yarns because I truly love several of their yarn- my favorites are Vanna’s Choice and Mandala lines. The choice of colors, combinations, and textures make Lion Brand my go-to for a choice of yarn. This has been the case for the past 10 years (way before my affiliation). I mention this because I find it important to understand my relationship with the company. With that being said, since becoming an affiliate, I have discovered an awesome new way to crochet- Crochet Kits (and Knit Kits)! I don’t know why this isn’t a bigger thing. These kits include all the yarn you need with the matching pattern. It does not include the tools (hooks, yarn needles, etc), but most people have those already. What is a Crochet Kit?

Crochet kits are made for specific projects. What you will find included in the kit- all the patterns and yarn needed to make the piece. Say goodbye to calculating yardage and skeins. This solves all those problems! I currently have four (18 gallons) buckets filled with leftover yarn from all my projects! That stops here with the creation of the Crochet Kit. It does not include hooks or other tools needed (but provides links to buy them).

Why aren’t all the required tools included?

Only the yarn needed for a pattern and the patterns are included in a kit because Lion Brand recognizes that many knitters and crocheters already have their own needles, hooks, and other findings. They also do not include needles and hooks because you may have to switch to a larger or smaller size depending on the gauge of your project. Since each individual knitter or crocheter will have different needs, they cannot provide a standard kit including these items. Fortunately, they provide links directly to the tools you will need or want! I also included links within the post to those tools as well!
